Im a 14 year old and just started fingerboarding in may. I have improved alot since i started but i still cant master a nollie :P. I also play competitive hockey, high school rugby and Im on the local boardercross team (snowboard). I dont really skateboard....at all....lol.
My current FB setup:
I dont really have one right now because the plies in my deck were so weak and bad that my board literaly fell apart in my hands, so now instead of one deck i have seven warped plies.......thanks alot TOM.......nahhh jk.....

Of course, the deck is the main thing you will need to take into account when making a cheap budget.
Noww, there are alot of companies out there but you have to make sure you are buying from a good, reputable company, and not one guy making decks to pass the time...
Some good and cheap companies i recommend to buy from are:
